Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Dustin Jenkerson is entering his first year as West Middle School principal on July 1, 2016. His educational experience started as a middle school social studies teacher in Park Hills, Missouri. He taught sixth grade social studies for eight years along with coaching middle school/high school boys’ basketball and middle school boy’s track. He and his family then relocated to Trenton, Missouri in 2012 to become the Trenton Middle School Assistant Principal. In 2013 he became the Principal and served there until 2016.
Mr. Jenkerson received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and minor in Middle School Social Studies from Southwest Baptist University. He then received his Master of Science in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University. He has also completed an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from William Woods University. Mr. Jenkerson’s certifications include Elementary Education grades Kindergarten through fifth grade and Social Studies grades six through nine.
Mr. Jenkerson is a member of the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Mr. Jenkerson enjoys being active running, riding and being outdoors with his family. Dustin and his wife Lindsay have three young daughters, Kate, Valerie and Scarlett.

This is Mrs. Gilpatrick’s first year serving as West Middle School’s Assistant Principal. After graduating from Hickman High School, Mrs. Gilpatrick attended Graceland University Lamoni, IA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education; while teaching Early Childhood Special Education. She moved back to Columbia to complete the University of Missouri Fellowship Program and graduated the program with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and continued at the University of Missouri to complete an Educational Specialist in Administration. Mrs. Gilpatrick taught Early Childhood Special Education (4 years), grades 8-9 Special Education; Reading and Emotional Disturbance (4 years), 6 grade regular education reading and writing (3 years), grades 6-8 Special Education (4 years) and was the Administrative Assistant at Gentry Middle School (2 years).
Mrs. Gilpatrick is a continuous learner and is currently working on studies in Executive Functioning Skills, Poverty and Positive Behavior Implementation Support (PBIS)/ Restorative Practices and school success.
Mrs. Gilpatrick has a son, Peyton, who is a third grader at Rock Bridge Elementary and husband, Jeramie, who works for State Farm. Her interests are spending time with family, traveling, learning, gardening and appreciating life.
