About Mrs. Caldwell
Hi! My name is Erin Caldwell. I am a 3rd grade teacher at Alpha Hart Lewis. This is my seventh year teaching. I taught one year of 4th grade at Robert E. Lee Elementary followed by teaching 3rd grade at Eugene Field Elementary during our transition to Alpha Hart Lewis. I have been here at Alpha Hart Lewis teaching 3rd grade ever since! We have a wonderful staff of educators that are fabulous to work with. I enjoy what I learn with our students every day!
I am a local, born and raised here in Columbia. I myself went to Fairview Elementary School, Smithton Middle School, and Hickman High School. Following Hickman, I left Missouri to obtain my bachelor’s degree from Graceland University in Lamoni, IA. I am certified to teach birth through 6th grade general education and kindergarten to 12th grade music. I am taking graduate courses when I can between work, family, and church.
I am married and a stepmother to two teens, one girl and one boy. I have a pet calico cat named Bristo and my classroom pet red-eared slider turtle named Squirt. We also have two dogs, Copper & Boomer! When I am not at school/working on school work, I enjoy spending time with my family (including my own parents, siblings, and grandparents), working out at Columbia Jazzercise, being at ocean beaches, traveling, going to the movies, shopping, being outside, fishing, swimming, soaking up the sun, and spending time in downtown Columbia.
My Guiding Principle:
Education fosters and prepares children for the future. A strong educational background opens doors to countless possibilities in their lives. As a teacher, I recognize the impact I can make on my students’ ability to succeed. My goal as a teacher is to nurture and enhance what my students bring with them into the classroom as well as aid in their development of life skills and self-confidence.
