|Welcome to Ms. Alexander's page!|
Hello from the Grant School office! I started working at Grant in August 2014 as a media instructional aide in the library and computer lab. Now, I work in the office, which means I get to support our students, their parents, our teachers, and our principal with all the things that go into growing Grant All Stars. I am honored to be with your children each day, and love watching their social and educational growth.
My story is probably like a lot of Columbians: I didn't grow up here, but once I graduated from college, I never left! I grew up on a hog farm in Shelbina, Missouri and have a bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Mizzou. Before coming to Grant, I was the Public Relations Director for Regional Economic Development, Inc. for eight years and the Public Information Officer for the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services for six years.
I love to read, play the piano, take walks, ride bikes, and travel with my family. My husband, a "local boy", comes from a long line of Columbia Public School graduates. In fact, his grandpa was in the very first class at Grant, way back in 1911! We have two wonderful children and a sweet, old dog.
Next time you're at Grant, drop in the office and say hi!
