Hickman math teacher named finalist for presidential award
Hickman High School teacher Deanna Wasman has been named as a Missouri state-level finalist by the selection committee for this year's Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching Program recognizing 7-12 grade teachers of mathematics in Missouri. Ms. Wasman is one of five Missouri teachers of mathematics selected as a state-level finalist for the national recognition.
Ms. Wasman will be recognized for her accomplishment as state-level finalist during a state teaching conference in February. The teacher selected as the state Presidential Awardee will be notified officially by the White House and will receive $10,000 and an all-expense-paid trip for two to Washington, DC, where Presidential Awardees will be honored in a variety of recognition events.
