Mrs. Lankheit began playing violin at age four, and has participated in numerous orchestras since 8th grade, including the Kentucky all-state orchestra her junior and senior years of high school. She is originally from Henderson, Kentucky, but moved to Missouri to attend college, and decided to stay in Missouri for her career. She had the opportunity to perform on the Great Wall of China in Beijing with her college orchestra in 2009. In fall 2010, she returned to China to teach general music and violin lessons at Harrow International School in Beijing.

Mrs. Lankheit fell in love with orchestra in 10th grade after performing Camille Saint-Saens "Bachannale from Samson and Delilah" with her youth orchestra (the Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in Evansville, Indiana). She has never looked back and hopes to instill a love and a passion for music in her students through orchestra.

She has been married to her husband, Dave, since October, 2018, and they have a silly dog named Nova that they adopted in April, 2020.
