  • CPS qualifies 72 students for DECA state competition

    The Columbia Area Career Center has announced the results of the 2020 DECA District Two competition, held on Wednesday, January 29, at the Holiday Inn Expo Center in Columbia. Students finishing in the top two in each event will advance to the State Career Development Conference on March 22 in Kansas City, Missouri.

  • Local FFA team wins state competition

    The Columbia Area Career Center has announced the 2020 results of the FFA Missouri Veterinary Science Career Development Event. The CPS team will represent Missouri in the Vet Science Career Development Event at the 93rd National FFA Convention & Expo, October 28-31, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

  • CPS students qualify for FBLA state competition

    The Future Business Leaders of America District 5 Leadership Competition was held in Moberly on February 7. More than 465 students from 22 school districts competed, including students from Battle High School, Hickman High School, and Columbia Area Career Center (Rock Bridge High School) FBLA chapters. Here are the results.

  • Cedar Ridge principal announcement

    Larry Nelson will be recommended to the Board of Education to be the next principal at Cedar Ridge Elementary School for the 2020-2021 school year. Dr. Nelson will be taking over for Angie Bedsworth who announced her retirement earlier this year.

  • Three CPS students selected as U.S. Presidential Scholars candidates

    Three Columbia Public Schools students have been selected as candidates in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Hickman High School senior Fletcher Orr and Rock Bridge High School seniors Will Cover and Cooper Deneke are among 4,500 candidates selected from 3.6 million students expected to graduate nationwide in 2020.
