Hello! My name is Nicole Hatchett and I am a certified speech-language pathologist. I am also affectionately known by my students and co-workers as "Ms. Cole". I obtained my undergraduate degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology with an emphasis in Deafness from Fontbonne University in St. Louis Missouri. I have been providing speech and language services for children birth to five for more than 10 years in the Columbia area. I have been full time with Columbia Public Schools Early Childhood Special Education Program for six years now. I am passionate about what I do and I absolutely love working with young children. I have specialized training in the area of teaching children that are deaf and hard of hearing to talk, and obtained my Listening and Spoken Language Credentials in 2009. I have also presented at state and national conferences on collaboration between schools and Craniofacial teams when working with children with cleft palate.
When I am not working you will find me with my family. My husband, Mike and I, have two wonderful children. Our son, Jack, is 4 years old and is creative and energetic and keeps us on our toes with his endless ideas and stories. Our daughter, Anna, is two years old and is sweet and content to do whatever Mommy is doing. We love spending time at our family farm and doing activities outdoors. We recently purchased a camper trailer so we are excited to see the adventures that will bring for our family. We have a large dog named Chief and will be adding a new puppy to our household soon. We are a busy family are enjoying each year more than the last.
I love to hear from the families I work with, so please feel free to contact me with the information listed. In the near future, I will be adding some links for information I often share with families of students, so check back for some helpful resources related to speech and language.
