Mr. Taylor Drennan
My Name is Taylor Drennan. This will be my 13th year in the Columbia Public School District. I was born and raised in Columbia, and I am a proud product of the CPS District. After graduating from Rock Bridge High School, I accepted a baseball scholarship to Central Methodist University. I graduated from Central Methodist University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education before teaching a spring semester of 3rd grade in Marceline, Missouri. I came back to Columbia and taught 4th grade at Derby Ridge Elementary for three years. Then I made the transition to middle school and came to Gentry for the next six years. While at Gentry, I taught 6th grade Social Studies, 7th grade Social Studies, 7th grade English and AVID. I also coached football (2012) , volleyball (2016) and girls basketball (2012-2018) at Gentry. I transitioned into administration when a job opened at Gentry in the middle of 2018. I then moved to administrative job at Alpha Hart Elementary and then Shepard Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. In 2020, I became the assistant principal of John Warner Middle School and then moved to principal in 2021. It is a dream come true to open a new school and am so fortunate to be a part of the Grizzly family.
My mother is a retired 1st grade teacher at Russell Elementary and my father is a retired AP Psychology teacher at Rock Bridge High School. My sister works as a physical therapist in Arkansas. I have been married to the love of my life Kaci, for nine years. We have a four year old r named Sadie and a dog named Eddie.
