Almeta Crayton (1959 - 2013)
First Ward city councilwoman from 1999 - 2007, Almeta Crayton spent her life helping her Columbia neighbors. Known for her charity work throughout the community, her legacy is the Everybody Eats Thanksgiving dinner, which she started over 20 years ago. Almeta Crayton's Community Programs continues her work today with Everybody Eats, Poor Man’s Breakfast, and Back to School Block Party.
