  • Winter Sports Information

Posted by Christine Spurling on 10/13/2020

Practices and try-outs for all winter sports will begin on Monday, October 19th.  We offer Cheerleading, Girls’ Basketball, and Boys’ Basketball in the winter season.  Practices/Try-outs vary based on the team and grade level.  Coaches will communicate with families at try-outs and sport specific information will be given.  We will not have a school-wide winter sports meeting, as in years past, but will instead have Zoom meetings between coaches and families following the first week of practices.

Physicals must be on file and completed before students will be allowed to participate on October 19th.  Please look at the school webpage, MSHSAA Forms, complete the paperwork needed for your child and turn it into the main office or submit it to their coach.  Part 1 is needed for all 7th graders and athletes new to Gentry.  Part 2 must be completed by all athletes.  If your child participated in Fall Sports, they should have all materials on file.

Please reach out to the coaches if you have any questions

Cheerleading (try-outs) – Coach Noltie,, or Coach McCormick,

7th Boys’ Basketball - Coach Roberds,

7th Girls’ Basketball - Coach Frearson,

8th Boys’ Basketball - Coach Welty,

8th Girls’ Basketball - Coach Sykes,

  • iBoss Filter out Recently

Posted by Christine Spurling on 10/6/2020

CPS is pushing the iBoss filter out to all Gentry students who do not already have it. This should show up on your device sometime today. If you are having issues with your iPad. Here are some troubleshooting tips.

If you are still having issues, try deleting the iBoss App and reinstalling it from Self Service. We are finding that this solves many issues.

  • Gentry Sportswear!

Posted by Christine Spurling on 10/2/2020

We now have an online store open to purchase Gentry sportswear. This store will remain open until 9:00 am on Friday, October 16th. All orders can be placed and paid for through the online site and we will collect all orders and have them available for families to pick up by the end of the month. Once we have a better idea on exact times, we will send an email to all families coordinating the date/time that those orders can be picked up. Our plan is to have a tent set up in the parking lot at GMS one evening. This is our only planned opportunity to offer sportswear this school year and also our only opportunity to have a fundraiser, so be sure to check out our fun designs and get yours before it’s too late.
