Water Quality 2024
Columbia Public Schools worked with a water testing laboratory to conduct voluntary lead and copper testing within its school buildings. There were more than 1,400 water samples from throughout the school district collected and tested for lead and copper. The results determined that the school district is well above the required compliance guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency's lead and copper rules as applied to public water supplies. Any precautionary measures taken at each school are available upon request. The state requirement stipulates that each water source must test below five parts per billion (ppb).
