What if I’m using another browser not listed above?
We recommend using one of the above browsers for the best possible experience using the CPSFamilies Portal.
How do I set up Password Recovery?
I’m using my computer
I’m using my mobile device
The Password Recovery setup is not an option on Mobile devices, so this process can only be completed from a computer. Please reference the "I'm using my computer" link above to set up Password Recovery so that the "Help, I forgot my password" link at the Families Portal login page will work.
Do I need to install the ClassLink OneClick Extension on my computer?
Yes, the ClassLink Extension installs on your web browser, is completely safe and is only active when using the Families Portal. It automatically opens a few applications in your Families Portal that have different usernames and passwords than what you use to log into the portal. It stores your various logins and enters them behind the scenes, so all you have to remember is the one login to get into the portal.
What if I’m using another browser not listed above?
We recommend using one of the above browsers for the best possible experience using the CPSFamilies Portal.
Can multiple people in my household use the CPS Families Portal and CPS Staff and Student Portal from the same computer?
We recommend that each fully logs out of all apps and the Portal before another member of the household attempts to access their CPS Families Portal or CPS Staff and Student Portal. Another option is to have each member use a different browser type (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.).
I work for the district, and I’m also a guardian. Will I access CPS digital resources for my students through the CPS Portal?
Guardians will access CPS digital resources for their students through the CPS Families Portal, found at cpsfamilies.org
NOTE: You will need to log out of your CPS Staff Portal to log into your CPS Families Portal and vice-versa. You can only be logged into one Portal at a time (unless you run two separate web browsers or use multiple Chrome sign-ins).
Why do I use a district-issued Guardian ID instead of a username to log in?
We use a district-issued Guardian ID to keep access to the family portal as secure as possible. A District Issued Guardian ID also ensures that each guardian has an identifier unique to them. Using a District Issued Guardian ID is more secure than using the name, email address, or other easily identifiable username.
Who should I contact if I have questions about what I see when I log in to the CPS Families Portal?
If you have questions about what you see in the CPS Families Portal, please contact your student’s school.
