Welcome to Dr. Beth Winton's page! Hello, and welcome to my page. Here's a little bit about me.
I have worked in gifted education for my entire professional career. I graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, specializations in gifted education and psychology. I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1999 with an emphasis in gifted education. I earned National Board Certification in November, 2002, and renewed it in 2012. I earned a PhD in Educational Administration at Mizzou. My dissertation was on underachieving gifted secondary students with motivation as the theoretical framework. I was the Supervisor of Gifted Education for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education from December, 1994 through August, 1999. I am a charter member and current Chairperson of the State-wide Advisory Council on the Education of Gifted and Talented Students. This will be my 23nd year in the Columbia Public Schools and my 29th year in public education and I have taught gifted students from Kindergarten through high school.
I am passionate about serving gifted students within a school system in which they do not always fit.
All EEE curriculum begins in the student's Schoology course. The best way to contact me is via email.Email: BWinton@cpsk12.orgPhone: 573-214-3821
