• Welcome to Mrs. Nichols' page!

    Christine Jarquio

Christine Nichols starts her sixth year of teaching vocal music at Jefferson Middle School this year.  Mrs. Nichols is passionate about creating, sharing, and educating about music with and for students, using the fine arts as a tool to bring out students' creativity, talent, and emotional expressiveness.

At JMS, Mrs. Nichols teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Choir, as well as Jeff's 6th grade extracurricular choir, Voices of Jeff.  No auditions are necessary!  Please visit Mrs. Nichols in the choir room (room 26), or simply come to Monday rehearsal (starting August 20) if you are interested in joining.

This year, Mrs. Nichols will be traveling to Lange to co-teach 7th Grade Choir with Mr. Patrick Dell.  She is also the Artistic Director of the Columbia Public Schools 5th Grade Honors Choir.  On Sunday afternoons, she directs the Columbia Youth Choirs 'Bella Voce,' a choir for young ladies in middle and high school.

In her spare time, Mrs. Nichols enjoys running, and sings in professional choral ensembles Vox Nova (www.voxnovacomo.org), Prometheus (www.prometheusmusic.org), and Pro Arte of Saint Louis (www.proartestl.org).  Mrs. Nichols and her husband, Jay, live with their two coonhounds, Elly and Oliver.  They love traveling and going on adventures!
