We strive to maintain a reputation of excellence as we seek to meet the needs of all children enrolled in our school.Mary Paxton KeeleyBorn: June 2, 1886 in Independence, MissouriDaughter of John Paxton and Mary Neil GentryEducation: Enrolled in the University School of Journalism when it opened in 1908and she became the first woman to graduate in 1910. In 1928, she receiveda Masters in Journalism from MU.Resume: In 1910, she was employed as a reporter for the Kansas City Post. From 1929-1952,she taught journalism of Christian College (now Columbia College).Service: She served in the American Red Cross in France during World War I.
