Alpha Hart Lewis Elementary School is named for Alpha Hart Lewis, the first and only woman superintendent of the former Boone County rural school system (1943-1951) and a teacher of children from 1913 to 1978.  
Alpha Hart Lewis Elementary School opened in January 2010, transitioning the former Field Elementary students mid-year making the first full year at AHL during the 2010-2011 school year.
Our school mascot is the Huskies.  Our school colors are blue and green.
The 2014-2015 enrollment at Alpha Hart Lewis is 752.
