I am Beatty-Sensei. I am the CPS Japanese teacher. I love what I do and try to have fun doing it. Fun & Hard Work are not mutually exclusive!
If you want to learn more about me, check out my bio on BeattySensei.com.
Over the past few years I have been "gamifying" my classroom. What does that mean you ask? Well.... if you're familiar with RPGs...then that's the general idea. You will pick a character and be part of a clan for the year.
If you want to learn more about how this will work... check out ClassCraft.com. Also, I am in the process of making it even better. For that, I've been designing this page (Heroes of the Rising Sun). This whole process is fun and is always in beta-testing. So if you have an idea...please share it.
Now...things to know. We will be making our own textbook! While I'll be offering some guidance as to how to do this, you will have a lot of freedom on exactly how YOU do it.
Lastly...this is a project based class. This means you will do A LOT of speaking, writing and reading. Final projects can be whatever you come up with. You are only limited by the language learned (Google is the Devil) this year and your skills.
Here are some of the things we'll be using this year in addition to the sites mentioned above.
Quizlet.com Once you are here, you can search for BeattySensei and then request to join my class if didn't already do so at the beginning of the year. This is what we will use for writing our vocabulary into our DIYTs.
Google for Class Videos I try to record ALL my classes and put the videos up here. If you missed class, or need to review your notes...the video will most likely be here. Look for your class & date
