Description: The 2019 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
 
Eligibility:  Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. High school graduates are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.

Scholarship Name:  MSBA John Belcher Scholarship
  
Amount:   A $1000 annual scholarship is awarded to a student in each of MSBA’s 17 regions. A statewide winner is selected from this group of regional winners and awarded an additional $1500.
 
Deadline:  Nov. 16, 2018
 
Description: MSBA FutureBuilders established the scholarship program in memory of John T. Belcher, who was instrumental in developing innovative financing programs for Missouri school districts. The learning environment for thousands of Missouri’s public school students improved as a result of his work. Applicants are judged on the basis of academic performance, extracurricular activities and the quality of an essay.
 
Eligibility:  The school board of each MSBA member district is eligible to nominate one high school senior to apply. Seniors interested in being nominated for this award, should see Mrs. Geyer in the Counseling Office for an application. Applications are due no later than Nov. 16, 2018.
