    Principal

My name is John Elliston and I have the pleasure of currently serving as the principal of Shepard Elementary.  I have been in education for the past 26 years.  For the first sixteen years of my service, I taught social studies at the middle school level along with coaching high school and middle school wrestling and football.  This will be my eleventh year as an elementary school principal.

Kansas State University provided me with my undergraduate degree.  I received my Master’s degree from William Woods University and my Specialist degree from Lincoln University.

Over the past twenty six years I have seen many changes in education but what has remained consistent is the importance of the home and school working together.  With a strong partnership with home and school, students have a much better opportunity to be successful in school and in life.

Thank you for supporting Shepard and being a part of the team that moves your child forward in their education.

     Assistant Principal

My name is David Stallo and I am honored to serve as the assistant principal of Shepard Elementary. This will be my 12th year in education.  I have taught Physical Education at the middle school level for 7 years along with coaching middle school football, basketball, and track. I have served as an assistant middle school principal for 2 years and this will be my 3rd year as assistant principal at Shepard Elementary.

I received my bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University, Master’s degree from Central Methodist University, and Specialist degree from William Woods University. I have been married to my wife Cheryl for ten years and we have three daughters Avery, Charley, and Elle.

I believe it is imperative that all students have the opportunity to be successful in life. It is our role as educators to create a positive learning environment where students can achieve success and establish skills to be life-long learners. Thank you for supporting Shepard and partnering with the school on your child’s education.
