All students complete a Language Questionnaire upon enrollment.
If the Language Questionnaire indicates the child's first language is something other than English and/or there is a language other than English spoken in the home, the student is referred to the EL coordinator or the EL teacher in the student's school.
The EL coordinator or EL teacher assesses the student's English proficiency using the WIDA-ACCESS Placement Test (W-APT).
The EL coordinator or EL teacher makes placement recommendations.
