Mrs. Amanda Ruyle
Welcome to Two Mile Prairie! This is my second year as principal and my 15th year in Columbia Public Schools. Prior to becoming the principal of TMP, I was an assistant principal, kindergarten teacher, and 3rd grade teacher in CPS. I have been lucky to work at three great schools prior to Two Mile Prairie, but I LOVE the special community that we have at TMP and it really feels like home!
At TMP, we are Prairie PROUD!
We Persevere when things are difficult. We Respect ourselves and others. We are Open-minded to thoughts, ideas, and challenges. We Uplift others in our community with kind words and actions. We are Dependable; others can count on us.
Two Mile is working on becoming a place-based agriculture school. Our dream is to teach many of our K-5 standards through the lens of agriculture while using our amazing learning space to support our curriculum. We have chickens, a school garden and compost area, and a small field for crops. We are partnering with Farm to School, Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture, as well as leaders in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources to support our dreams. I also believe in involving our families and having strong community connections to foster students' love of learning.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and dog Sammy. I am the happiest when I can be outside...going on long walks, working in my yard, or reading a book on my patio. I love to travel and explore new places and summer is my favorite season! I am a proud local and couldn't imaging living in a better place. We love all things Mizzou!
Building relationships with students, staff, and families is what I enjoy most about being a principal. Please never hesitate to reach out if you have questions. We look forward to showing you all the ways we are Prairie PROUD!
One Heart. One Home. One Two Mile.
