    Fairview PTA Committees

Birthday Book Program:  Great committee that our students love!  This involves sending out fliers twice a year, entering information into an online form and purchasing labels.

Book Fairs, New and Used: Assist with the two Scholastic Book Fairs in Fall and Spring. Collection, set up and sales of used books during Parent/Teacher Conferences in the fall and spring.

Chess Club: Coordinate Chess Club dates between the teacher and the school. Manage chess club membership. Order and distribute t-shirts. Coordinate chess tournament. Most of this work is done via email. Chess Club volunteers are not required to attend Chess Club meetings.

Communications/Fairview Directory:  Help prepare the yearly Fairview Directory.  Collect data, format the student information for those families that want to have their information included in the school directory, and work with the office to gather other information to complete the directory.  Good with google docs and formatting info?  This committee is for you.

Fairview Fever Festival:  This is our biggest fundraiser of the year!  Manage the subcommittees or be on one.  There are games, food, raffles and a silent auction.

Fifth Grade Party: Gather volunteers and plan a field day/party for the graduating fifth graders, held the last week of school.

Fundraisers:  Help with the Fairview Fever Festival fundraising activity and community fundraising activities (i.e., Shakespeare’s fundraising nights). Much of this work is done via phone and computer.

Gardens and Landscaping: If you love gardening, join us to beautify Fairview.  We work with our principal to plan and staff twice yearly Saturday Campus Clean Up days, maintain the two courtyards and the butterfly garden.

Ice Cream Social:  Plan and coordinate the ice cream social following the Spring PTA meeting.

Literacy Room: Alphabetize and sort books in the bookroom. Minimal time commitment.

Membership: Facilitate PTA membership by educating and encouraging parents to join PTA. The Membership committee gathers applications and administers a database of all PTA members. Membership volunteers staff PTA booths during Back to School Night, Meet the Teacher Night, and Kindergarten Registration. This committee also helps to place volunteers on committees.

Multi-Cultural Night:  Assist chair and assigned Fairview staff with organizing annual spring evening activity to celebrate Fairview’s diverse ethnic heritage.  Planning will include potluck meal, room art and evening entertainment.

Rebate Programs: The Rebate Programs Committees collects, prepares, counts and submits the Boxtops, and other rebate programs that we collect on a regular basis.

Reflections:  Serve on the committee that helps with the yearly Reflections contest highlighting art, music, and creative talents. A must if you are into the Arts or just love seeing how creative kids can be!

Room Parent Coordinator: Coordinate/Oversee all Room Parents.  Work with all Fairview teachers and room parents for 3 class parties for roles of party coordinator and party helpers.

School Supply Coordinator: Coordinate order of school supply kits.

Sportswear: Design and organize sportswear and order forms.  Sell Sportswear at a few events throughout the year.

Staff Appreciation:  Organize events throughout the year to treat and recognize our superb teachers and staff. This is a fun committee and a great way to get to know Fairview staff.

Volunteer Hour Coordinator: Gather volunteer hours from PTA committee members.

Wellness:  Organize wellness events (evening walk at Twin Lakes, swimming, roller skating, etc.) held several times during the school year. Sign up if you are passionate about keeping our kids healthy and active!

Workroom: Volunteer in the teacher’s workroom making copies, etc. for teachers approximately once a week.  Minimal time commitment; an hour or less each time.

Yearbook:  Help coordinate the Fairview yearbook – great if you are creative or love photography!
