  • Shepard Boulevard principal announced

    Jill Edwards will be recommended to the Board of Education to become the principal at Shepard Boulevard Elementary School for the 2018-19 school year. Edwards has been the assistant principal at Alpha Hart Elementary School since 2012. Prior to working at Alpha Hart, Edwards was a teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary School for five years.

    Columbia Public Schools is the recipient of three Breaking Traditions Awards through Columbia Area Career Center. Students Emily Carranza and Jadie Arnett and instructor Laura Estabrooks received awards.

  • Gentry teacher nominated for national history award

    Gentry Middle School teacher Gretchen Trower has been nominated for the Harris History Teacher Award by the State Historical Society of Missouri, administrator of the National History Day program in Missouri. The Harris History Teacher of the Year award is sponsored by James F. Harris and is nationally awarded to one middle and high school teacher annually.
