KEWPIE INCENTIVE CARDS (KIC)

Hickman Students and Parent/Guardians,

The new KIC Purple and Gold Stickers have been handed out in student support block classes (study hall/advisory/EEE/AVID/Resource.)

Students without a support block class can get the sticker from Lisa Chalupny BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL in front of the Counseling Office or ON “B” DAYS AT LUNCH in the West Office UNTIL the end of November.  See KIC Criteria chart below!

IF A STUDENT DOES NOT HAVE A CURRENT 22-23 HICKMAN ID CARD THEY CAN COME TO THE WEST OFFICE TO HAVE ONE PRINTED.

There are major changes this year.

KIC IS NO LONGER USED AS A HALL PASS.

All students in hallways must have a yellow pass.

Students may have 1 score of a “2” rating in conduct and effort to qualify for a purple sticker.

Have any gently used clothing, toys, and games or brand-new hygiene products you’d like to donate?

You’re in luck!

We are collecting these items for the Rainbow House.  Bring donations to the North Office and enter your name in a drawing for a prize!

Donations will be accepted through December 9.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST

b

Have you built a gingerbread house or plan on building one? Hickman’s Purple and Gold is taking entries for our gingerbread house feature. The winner will be featured in the next P&G edition. There are flyers around the hallway with a QR code to submit your gingerbread houses to. When you submit your gingerbread house picture you will be entered into a drawing. The winner will receive a special holiday prize.

Good luck!

Do you celebrate Christmas, or something else? Would you like to be represented in the next P&G edition? Share your family’s holiday celebrations and customs with us and help us give you the opportunity to be represented at school. Look for a poster around school with contact information and tell us more about what you do during the winter season.

b

Attention all Kewpies, both students and staff! Do you have a special kiddo in your life?

The Japanese 3/4 class is hosting a kids Christmas craft fare Monday, November 28 from 5pm to 8pm at the First Presbyterian Church downtown! We'll have plenty of crafts, games, and delicious baked goods available to all attendees, and all proceeds go towards the Japanese class's 2023 summer trip! More information is available in your morning announcements!

b

Auditions for the all-school play, Little Women, will be held on Tuesday, November 29.  Audition materials can be found outside room 125 as well as in the Schoology course for the class.  The technical application can also be found in the Schoology course.  We encourage all students with an interest to audition or apply.  Please see Mrs. Gerling with any questions.

The Kewpie Cup Talent Show is back!

Auditions are Wednesday, January 11 and Thursday, January 12 after school in the Little Theater until 6:15 PM.

LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER NEWS

 Students & Families:

Many students still have laptops from the 21-22 school year or Summer School 2022 that have not been returned. The Library Media Center will be sending emails to students who have laptops that are overdue. Please take the Thanksgiving break to look around at home and locate these devices to bring back to school.

District policy is that the first lost device incurs a $100 fine. Please try to locate these laptops and return them to the HHS Library Media Center. Students can always stop by the LMC if they have questions.
