Battle student earns QuestBridge Scholarship, named Horatio Alger Scholar

Battle High School Senior Amaya Daniels has earned two prestigious academic scholarships.  

Amaya, a CPS AVID Scholar and MAC Scholar, was awarded a QuestBridge Scholarship which provides a students who have excelled academically with a full four-year scholarship, worth over $200,000 for a matched student. Amaya has matched with Washington University in St. Louis.

Amaya has also been named a Horatio Alger Scholar. Out of 300,000 applications, Amaya was one of 106 chosen. The award is given to students who have demonstrated academic achievement or leadership potential, determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need. Amaya will receive a $25,000 scholarship and an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. in 2022 to be recognized.
