Career Center Renovation and Building Addition groundbreaking ceremony

The groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction work to renovate and expand the Columbia Area Career Center facility will be held on June 18 at 9 a.m. at the Columbia Area Career Center. The project will improve the facility and increase access to Career Center programs and courses for our students and the community.

Voters approved the Career Center project in 2022. The project includes renovation of the facility and a 15,000 square foot expansion of classroom and programmatic space, including student enterprise space.  The project is slated to be completed in the fall of 2025.

The Columbia Area Career Center is a part of the Columbia Public School District and serves the community by providing career and technical education programs and courses for students.  In addition to students enrolled in Columbia Public Schools, the Career Center also serves students enrolled in neighboring school districts, private, and parochial schools. More than 2,420 students were enrolled in Career Center courses in the 2023-24 school year.
