Jennifer Rukstad has been selected as the new assistant superintendent for secondary education for Columbia Public Schools.  She is slated to begin her role on July 1, 2019.

Rukstad is currently the principal at Rock Bridge High School, a position she has held since 2013.  She has more than 20 years of experience in education, including serving as an assistant principal, athletic director, teacher, intervention coordinator, and coach.

Rukstad holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership from the University of Missouri as well as an educational specialist in mathematics curriculum leadership, a master’s degree in educational administration, and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education.

“We are pleased and excited to have Dr. Rukstad join our district leadership team,” said Superintendent Peter Stiepleman.  “Not only is she a product of Columbia Public Schools, but she has also spent more than two decades working in our school district.  This combination of experience is an asset to district leadership and our community.”
