Rock Bridge High School principal announced

Jacob Sirna will be recommended to the Columbia Board of Education to become the principal at Rock Bridge High School for the 2019-20 school year. 

Sirna will replace current Principal Jennifer Rukstad who was previously announced as the new assistant superintendent for secondary education beginning next school year. 

Sirna is currently the principal at Marshall High School in Marshall, Missouri.  Prior to his current position, he was the assistant principal at Battle High School for five years.  He was also an assistant principal at Oakland Middle School for three years and taught for eight years at Oak Park High School in the Kansas City area. 

He has an undergraduate degree in history and master’s degree in education from Truman State University.  He also holds an education specialist degree in educational administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
