Elementary gifted education principal announced

Kristen Palmer Kristen Palmer will be recommended to the Columbia Board of Education to become the principal of elementary gifted education services for the 2020-21 school year.

 

Palmer will replace current elementary gifted services coordinator Terry Gaines, who previously announced her retirement.

 

Palmer is currently the principal at Two Mile Prairie Elementary School. Prior to her current position, she was the principal at Blue Ridge Elementary School for seven years and assistant principal at Blue Ridge for one year. She has 16 years of experience in instruction, including gifted education instruction. She has an undergraduate degree in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma. She also has a master's degree in elementary administration from the University of Missouri and an education specialist degree in administration from William Woods University.
