Battle Buddies Celebrate the Holidays
Usually, the Battle High School students walk over to Battle Elementary School to meet with their designated Battle Buddy, but this week the elementary students visited the high school.
Battle Buddies is a collaboration between Battle High School AVID students and Battle Elementary School students. Modeled after the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, the Battle High School students serve as a 1:1 mentors.
Several of the high school students walked with the elementary students across the field and the rest of the mentors excitedly waited in the library.
For an hour, the Battle Buddies met played games, had some snacks and exchanged gifts. The elementary students made cards and the high school students gave a book.
This program is ongoing and there are additional events scheduled for the second semester.
