Gentry Students Celebrate Read Across America with Costumes and a Book Tasting

To continue the year-wide reading focus goal, Gentry Middle School celebrated Read Across America Week with a variety of activities, including dress-up events,  pop-up bistro and more.

Using Dr. Seuss book themes as inspiration, the students dressed in stripes and crazy hair to welcome each other to Suessville; college shirts and future profession-related attire for the book, "Oh The Places You'll Go;" grinch green for the "Grinch Who Stole Christmas;"  and animal inspiration for "If I Ran The Zoo."

During the week, the library hosted a Book Bistro and welcomed all students to a Book Tasting. This event introduced students to a new way to browse books and opportunities to learn more about different genres. After pursuing the bistro's offerings, students were able to check out books and make a list of future reading options.

One student remarked that she “loved the atmosphere because it was really pleasant and a new way to find books."
