Student authors at Blue Ridge Elementary celebrated their writing skills with an all-day event.
Celebrity readers, including several school board members, district leaders and principals, from throughout Columbia spent time reading and providing feedback and praise on the student's writing and illustrating portfolios.
"The writing celebration is the biggest event of the year for Blue Ridge," principal Mark Burlison said.
This year's theme, "There’s no place like BRE," included Wizard of Oz-style settings throughout the building. Seth Hein, a former BRE teacher and current West Boulevard Elementary staff member, helped bring the vision to life.
