CPS Planetarium December public shows
Take a break from holiday shopping and head into space with the Columbia Public Schools Planetarium on Saturday, December 10.
December marks the debut of two new planetarium shows at CPS Planetarium. The two 11-minute shows highlight NASA's current and future space programs. NASA's International Space Station and Journey to Mars will be shown together starting at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 10. Visitors will also get a short briefing on NASA's Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy from planetarium director Melanie Knocke, who recently returned from flying two missions on the aircraft in early November.
For younger audiences, the 2:00 p.m. show is Astronaut. This show talks about how people train to become astronauts and how the human body is affected by outer space.

Reservations for planetarium shows are encouraged. To reserve seats, visit http://cpsplanetarium.org. Planetarium shows are free, although donations of $2.00 per person are encouraged.
CPS Planetarium is located within Rock Bridge High School at 4303 S. Providence Road in Columbia. The planetarium is open for public shows on the second Saturday of each month. During the school year, groups can reserve a weekday show by phone, (573) 214-3148, or via email.
