CPS students win Missouri Entrepreneurship Challenge
On Friday, November 7, three teams from Hickman High School/Columbia Area Career Center competed in the 2014 Missouri Entrepreneurship Challenge. The teams from Hickman/CACC finished first and second.
The Entrepreneurship Challenge is sponsored by MasterCard, UMKC, and the Missouri Council on Economic Education.
The teams that competed at the state competition had to qualify by submitting business plans. The top 20 teams were selected to compete for the state title at UMKC's Bloch School of Management. The winning team received $1,000 renewable scholarships from UMKC and a tablet. Second place finishers received the scholarship.
The three teams that qualified consist of all Hickman students that take Entrepreneurship at Hickman in the CACC wing.
First place team: Matasen Chambers, Abby Fulcher, Gareth Greenwell, Caitlin Price, and Becca Wagner
Second place team: Eden Brtock, Kay Frymire, Amy Hsu, Max Parry, and Sam Studer
Qualified: Mark David, Maddie Gilmore, Olivia Klenke, Nick Nelson, and Yoel Stefanos
