Gentry student takes 4th at state geography bee
Gentry Middle School eighth grader George Frey finished fourth in the State Geography Bee. He was one of 106 mid-Missouri fourth- through eighth-grade students who competed for the title of geographical genius. Each year, more than 4 million students across the United States compete for their state's title, $100, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC, to compete for the national title. The process began in January as students across the state participated in their schools' geography bees. The winners of the school competitions then took a test that was graded by National Geographic. If their score was high enough, they were invited to compete for the state title.
