Derby Ridge wins grant from CenturyLink foundation
The CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation's Teachers and Technology grant program winners have been announced. Derby Ridge Elementary School was awarded $1,967 for its "Rollin with the Techie Teacher" grant to start a mobile technology station along with iPads, apps, and a printer. Teacher Christi Baker submitted the project.
The program, which has been offered since 2008, awards grants to schools in CenturyLink's local service areas on behalf of teachers who have developed specific plans to innovatively implement technology in their classrooms. Across the country, more than 1,000 grant applications were received. In Missouri, 79 teachers applied, with 13 winning schools selected by a review committee comprised of community members and a CenturyLink representative.
