Columbia Transition Team hosts first Transition Academy
The Columbia Transition Team is sponsoring a "Transition Academy: What's After High School? The next steps to your future" on Friday, May 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Stephens College's Dudley Hall, 1405 E. Broadway. The Transition Academy is a parallel conference for parents and support professionals as well as Columbia Public Schools students with disabilities in grades 9-11 which aims to provide resources and information that can help individuals with disabilities have a meaningful life after high school. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions and visit with local support agencies and community resource providers that youth will need during their transition.
