Battle High School senior Kyra Moss has been awarded the 2015 Shelter Foundation/MAC Scholars Scholarship. The $2,000 scholarship was presented at the MAC Awards Ceremony held this year at Battle High School. Kyra plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia.
The scholarship criteria require that the student be in good standing with the MAC Scholars program, including enrollment in honors and advanced placement courses, maintaining a strong grade point average; maintain a minimum 95 percent attendance rate; participate in community service; and be attending a two- or four-year post-secondary institution. The selection was made by a scholarship committee consisting of Shelter Insurance employees. Shelter Insurance is a Partner In Education with Columbia Public Schools' MAC Scholars program.
