June shows at the CPS Planetarium

On the second Saturday of June, visit the planets with CPS Planetarium.

At 2:00 p.m., The Secret of the Cardboard Rocket show takes visitors on a tour of our solar system. Along the way, kids learn planet facts from a rather unusual tour guide. This show is great for elementary-school-aged kids.

At 3:00 p.m. is a show called The Planets. Narrated by Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek Voyager's Captain Janeway), this show is geared for a more mature audience. Beginning with the formation of the solar system, this show examines components that make up the solar system in which we live.

A constellation tour is included in each presentation.

Doors open at 1:45 p.m.
2:00 p.m. - Secret of the Cardboard Rocket
3:00 p.m. - The Planets

Planetarium shows are free, although donations of $2.00 per person are encouraged. To reserve a seat for a specific show, please visit the planetarium's Web site.

CPS Planetarium is located within Rock Bridge High School at 4303 S. Providence Road. The planetarium is open for public shows on the second Saturday of each month. During the school year, groups can reserve a weekday show by phone at (573) 214-3148, or via email
