District receives state assessment results (Posted 08/18/15)
Columbia Public Schools has received its statewide assessment results. The results include grade-level and end-of-course results. MAP-A and ACT data is not yet available. The results also represent the first time students were tested on new standards for English and math. The new test was also administered online for the first time. As more detailed district and school data becomes available and as additional assessment results are provided, the district will begin looking at individual school and content area performance. The state assessment is one of many assessments and evaluations used to determine how students are doing in school. The district also relies upon local content assessments and regular course work to help inform and differentiate instruction for students.
