Career Center grad named Masters golf tournament pastry chef (Posted 01/04/16)

Austin Scoles Austin Scoles, a 2014 Columbia Area Career Center graduate, will be the pastry chef for the Berckmans Place VIP area for the upcoming 2016 U.S. Masters Tournament located at the Augusta National Golf Club. He will be serving under Chef John Johnstone, previous executive chef of the Ritz Carlton Dubai, and Chef Roberto Bustilla, current executive chef at Berckmans Place.
 
In 2014 while attending CACC, Scoles was crowned the SkillsUSA Missouri state champ and runner-up on the national level for commercial baking. Now attending Johnson and Wales University as a sophomore in the baking and pastry food management program, Scoles continues his training and success. He recently competed for JWU by traveling to Munich, Germany, for the IBA Bakers Cup, one of the world's most prestigious baking competitions. Mr. Scoles is also looking forward to his internship in France this spring and more challenges and baking competitions.
