CPS students place first and third in regional spelling bee (Posted 03/17/16)
After 23 rounds and nearly three hours of competition, Lange Middle School sixth grader Kael Miranda won the Columbia Daily Tribune Regional Spelling Bee. Kael will move on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee to be held in Maryland in May. Kael's winning word was "trachea." Smithton Middle School eighth grader Isabel Trindade placed third in the competition.
