CPS Planetarium April public shows (Posted 04/04/16)

On Saturday, April 9, the shows at CPS Planetarium will talk about the space age and old times.
At 2:00 p.m., the show Astronaut (for ages 7 and up) will talk about what it takes to be an astronaut as well as how the lack of gravity affects the human body. After the show and star tour, visitors can see real space shuttle tiles and packets of actual space food.
At 3:15 p.m., the show Stars of Jade (for ages 12 and up) will discuss early Chinese astronomers and how they, by observing and recording supernovae, eclipses, planets, and other astronomical events, were much more aware of the strange universe we live in than their European counterparts. Learn about these differences and about the astronomical events they observed in this "classic" planetarium show. A star tour will follow the presentation.
