CPS teacher awarded Fulbright grant

The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs, the Institute of International Education, and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board have awarded Battle High School teacher Karina Galve the Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Short-Term Program. Dr. Galve, a Spanish teacher at Battle, will spend her time in the program teaching in Mexico. Dr. Galve is one of eight U.S. citizens who will travel abroad through the Fulbright Distinguished Awards program. She was selected based on her academic and professional achievement, as well as her demonstrated leadership potential.
 
The Fulbright Program is the flagship international education exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. It is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United State and people of other countries.
