FBLA spring competition results (posted 5/17/17)

The following students placed at the district level and advanced to the state and national levels. They competed at the Future Business Leaders of America District 6 Competition on February 3 at Moberly Area Community College. Students who placed in the top five for events that required written exams and those that placed first for their performance events advanced to the state level.
The FBLA State Leadership Conference was held April 2-4 in Springfield, Missouri. Five of the competing CPS students qualified to move on to the national level, which will be in Anaheim, California, June 29-July 2.
The following students qualified at the FBLA district level to compete at the FBLA State Conference:
  • Advertising: Mackenzie Thomas (Hickman High School), Lily Kraxberger (Hickman) and Ryan McCurdy (Battle High School)
  • Business Calculations: Veer Sangha (Hickman) and Sean Lam (Hickman)
  • Business Communications: Colette Pippin (Battle)
  • Business Plan: Mackenzie Thomas (Hickman)
  • Computer Problem Solving: Landon Smith (Battle) and Brenden Anich (Battle)
  • Cyber Security: Carter Fugit (Battle)
  • Economics: Veer Sangha (Hickman) and Max Bradley (Hickman)
  • Emerging Business Issues: Sarah Stannard (Columbia Area Career Center)
  • Introduction to Financial Math: Adam Lake (Battle)
  • Job Interview: Ojurere Shonekan (Career Center)
  • Journalism: Madalynn Owens (Battle)
  • Mobile Application Development Straight to State Event: Zach Doster (Career Center)
  • Personal Finance: Jackson Keller (Battle)
  • Public Service Announcement: Laura Hickey (Battle), Esmeldra Loredo (Battle), Colette Pippin (Battle)
