West Quiz Bowl teams excel in tournament (posted 3/6/18)
West Middle School Quiz Bowl teams competed in the recent Washington Wimsey Middle and Elementary Tournament in Washington, Missouri. The sixth grade team placed first out of 18 teams. Team members included Toby Lillig, Jack Scharf, Nate Waters, and Alex Wiksell. Nate Waters placed first out of 80 students for most questions answered, averaging 96 points per round. Jesse Moore placed third individually out of 80 students for most questions answered, averaging 50 points per round.
West's seventh/eighth grade team, with Julien Cheek, Luc Cheek, Owen Kington, and Judah Robbins-Bernal, made it into the championship bracket and placed 8th out of 32 teams. Davis Mosby placed seventh in the middle school division for most questions answered, averaging 63 points per round.
