In class we are writing memoirs and reading a short story from Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies, called "When Mr. Prizada Came to Dine." This memoir, set in Boston, chronicles Lahiri's first impactful experience of loss. It is beautifully written with descriptive language, strong verbs and enticing dialogue. Read "When Mr. Prizada Came to Dine" and learn about a young girl who struggles with reconciling her South Asian identity.
